The new Diana Gabaldon book arrived just in time for me to soak in the tub! SQUEE!
I knew I shoud have gone to the McD's on base. Stopped at the one in town and they promptly tell me they cant make iced coffee which is wierd cause its on the menu and Ive had it before... Seriously? Take the hot stuff, make it how I want and throw some ice in! What do you mean "cant make it?! " You have coffee, right? Instead I be a nice polite customer and get the iced mocha... "Whats the difference?" I thought... well evidently a big difference. Blech! The iced mocha is not for me. Theres so much bitterness and sugar I dont know whats worse...

but not forgotten... I has HAPPY FEET! They hurt so good after almost five hours of straight dancing. I have always loved nearly every type of dancing. I danced as a little girl. Tap jazz and ballet but my sister wanted to try karate after a few years of it so we tried that till she got annoyed with it after a mere month. We never went back to formal dance class as girls. I found modern dance in high school and in college did contra, swing, and jazz dancing. I also do a little dancing in the SCA. The last few years since college ive been off and on again with contra. its fairly upbeat, a good workout, and you get to meet so many people. Even if most of them are my grandparents age...
I was surprised by the number of younger folks at the dance tonight. so that was good and even saw someone from the local shire. Im hoping this excercise will help cure the insomnia Ive been plagued by all week. Ok off to crash!

I havnt gone to a contra dance in over two years. I am going tonight. Its less than 10 minutes from my house. Im so excited. I will go see Inglorious basterds tomorrow. Should be a great weekend.! Weee
sewing started. I got the shirts cut out last night but didnt pick them back up until after noon today. The two are finished though except for Chris's ruffles. Damn the ruffles! I have come to hate the pleating.
Mayhaps a nice tilapia fillet with permesan cheese will make it all better. beer too. beer will help.

Not from the sky but from my pores. I decided to do a little wood working outside. Sewing was put on hold for this morning, however everything is set up to start shirts. ITS SO Fracking hot outside.
In preperations for a tent work weekend at Callis next week, i cut 2x2s to length. This is for a frame to hold the walls out. I Was going to do the tongue and grooves but my jig saw wont cut it... (the pun is intended. ;) )will have to wait till I can use the table saw next weekend. Also still debating the best method to attach the frame poles to the corner poles. Chris doesnt think my idea will work and I want something thats easy to install. Tent raising can be troublesome enough without adding to the headaches. more brainstorming needed.
We Will do dinner and then let the neighbors kitties out to play then start on the sewing which will likely continue through Sunday. Ohhh, more fun. *sigh*
On the whole today has not been as productive as I had hoped. maybe tomorrow will change that.

I know I wont finish it all this weekend but I should get a darn good start on it. Heres the sewing list...
For me: at least one fencing shirt, one chemise, one pair of venetians, and one apron.
For Chris: at least one fencing shirt, a pair of venetians, and completing the blue and black cassock from, like, three years ago.
this doesnt include the mending i need to do...
Crap, i think Drea may still have my venetians pattern...??? must tear through pattern box.
*sigh*
My "pamper me" task for the weekend is a hair trim tomorrow morning. may be that will at least let me start in a better state of mind.

BBCA has Top Gear. racing mack trucks through a test track with a cake in the back, a car with no brakes on, and another truck with hay to one end and a live heater at the other. You can see where this is going. Cake was toppled, the one with the car ended with no car in it and the third arrived on fire! AWESOME!
for pooped. I am tired but happy.
Friday I left work a bit early and headed to MIke and Cosettes. HUng out there Friday night and to Sapphire on saturday. Sapphire was ok. Saw Dom get his WS. cool deal. and the look on his case was priceless. my pickups were good for the mose part but I got to feeling icky during the tourny so i stopped to eat something and did some more pickups later on. I did let Alan beat on me a bit after gearing up in Lywyds (sp?) c&T gear. Alan got a good wack at the side of my head and the faceplate popped off... heh. Kat proceeded to laugh at me from across the field since the rest of the helm ended up lopsided on my head. IM sure it was a sight to behold and I hope no one got pictures!
After court, we packed up and we headed up to Williamsburg with Scott and Drea. Stayed at the timeshare and did Jamestown and Williamsburg. Chris left on MOnday and I hung around to Do more on Tuesday and Wednesday. At Busch gardens on Wednesday I got soaked on the rapids ride and now my phone wont work.
*heh*
so today since I got home im trying to figure out whether to pay 50 bucks to replace my phone with the exact same old model or get a new phone with a new 2yr agreement from the same or different carrier. Were currently using at&t. The deals with them for new phones will end up costing about 300 bucks to replace the phones. I think I may pay less if I go through Alltell. Does anyone know what the plans and phones are like? Were open to iphones but not sure what the data plan costs... help!

Chris has new job and full income again. New jobs are hard for him but it is/will be good. No house hunting in the near future. Im still touching up the resume and will update all my website profiles tomorrow.
I am busy getting some garb ready for Calli to wear on Saturday and Chris and I are meeting his aunt tomorrow for dinner. Supposedly her husband is very jealous of my turkey I killed a couple weeks ago. (Went groundhog hunting and got a turkey too! We dont eat the groundhogs, ick!)
I was in San Diego last week and have a couple awesome trips coming up. Looks like Im goin to Okinawa, Japan and maybe Spain. Im soooo excited but I wish the hubby could go with me.
I must say here that last week was our 3rd anniversary and, while I was away without him, he made himself present by nimbly hiding the wedding album in my luggage so that I found it while unpacking at the hotel. so sweet!
I have been to a few events: tourney of friends, Crown (go Vlad!), and Im not sure what else...
This weekend, its Academy, then Jeff Dunham show and CP airshow, then Sapphire and Williamsburg mini vacation(due to new job, without the hubby, damnit!)
So as you can see... very, very busy all around.

Currently in san diego, CA. I like san diego but its a little on the cool side here this week highs about 60-65. Last week it was about 90 here. *sigh* its not bad although the real problem is the folks im here with. they are ok but not as into the partying like I think should be done here. I want to go salsa dancing and two-stepping but they want to sit and drink and talk. ok but it makes me tired very quickly. I dont last long that way... I am happy were going to the gas lamp district tonight. yummy food there...
Chris got the bike fixed and inspected. He rode it in to work to visit me where I got to give him a tour of where I work. First time in two years... that took a while.
Im feeling the itch to get back on the bike. I would like it to be a bit less windy and warmer for my first rides in six months. After the long hiatus from riding, im a bit nervous about getting back on it. Today is pretty out but I think the next really nice day we have Ill be tempted beyond my lilly-livered-ness and get on it. tee hee. I plan to take my time. ;)

Normally, this would be a good thing. However since ive been up since 2am sick and trying to snooze on the bathroom floor or the guest futon this is not so helpful. When i was able to call into work about 9 to call in sick, they very nicely ask me what to do about an investigation im running on an engine. Dont care. clock my hours and shush. It will wait for tomorrow.
On the good side, I dont think its more kidney stones and I seem to be able to keep the orange juice and Aleve down. Next, i try semisolids. I think I have some apple sauce. Yum. ok so im sure no one cares to hear about what I can eat at this point but IM at home with nothing to do. I am merely passing the time...
